Every year someone asks, reasonably, why bother with a medium this inconvenient.
The honest answer is restraint. A camera that holds three and a half minutes changes how you watch a room — you stop filming everything and start waiting for the thing worth the frame.
Digital is in every package I offer, and it should be. It is the safety net under the film, not a competitor to it.
But the grain is not nostalgia. It is a decision to slow down on a day that is already moving too fast to remember clearly on its own.
