01 — Inquire
Send the date
The day, the place, and roughly what you picture. I reply inside two days with real availability and a number, not a brochure.
02 — Call
Twenty minutes
We talk through the shape of the day and pick the stock. If film is the wrong call for your light or your timeline, I will say so.
03 — The day
One person, one bag
Two to three rolls shot as the day happens, digital running for sound and anything unrepeatable. No lighting rigs, no shot list to perform.
04 — Delivery
Six weeks
Lab, 4K scan, edit. You get the film, a vertical cut for your phone, and every scan untouched in a folder that stays yours.

What film costs you
A roll of 16mm runs about four minutes and cannot be reviewed on the day. That is the trade: less footage, more of it worth keeping.
Digital runs alongside for exactly this reason. Nothing that only happens once rests on a roll surviving the lab.
Questions I always get
What if the film gets ruined?
It has not happened in four years, and if it did you would still have a full digital film. I carry the risk, not you.
Do you shoot photos too?
No. I film. I am happy to recommend photographers whose work sits well next to film, and to stay out of their frame.
Can we choose Super 8 or 16mm?
Yes, and we decide together once I know the light. Super 8 for something loose and dreamlike, 16mm when you want it sharp enough to project.
How far will you travel?
Las Vegas and the Bay Area are included. Anywhere else is flights and lodging at cost, quoted before you commit, with no per-diem padding.
When do we see it?
Scans land in about three weeks and I send them raw as soon as they do. The edited film follows around week six.
What holds the date?
A third up front and a signed page. The balance is due two weeks before. No hidden fees after that, ever.
